Jarrod Walker outlines solo tour throughout the south

Jarrod Walker has outlined his intent to lead a solo tour this spring. Billy Strings’ mandolinist will embark on a six-stop run, beginning on May 15 at the Barrelhouse Ballroom in Chattanooga, Tenn., followed by a tight series of Southern-bred appearances where he will present his own brand of music, a combination of strings and percussion.

According to Walker’s latest post on social media, his self-titled tour features Billy Strings’ bandmate and bassist, Royal Masat, in addition to fellow Nashville staples and kin, Cory Walker on banjo. Christian Sedelmyer will assume fiddle duty, alongside guitarist Frank Rische and drummer Jamie Dick.

After the tour’s first stop in Chattanooga, the ensemble will arrive at The Orange Peel in Asheville, N.C., on May 16. The next night, the six-piece group is scheduled to appear at Atlanta’s Terminal West. They will take a short pause from the stage before the ensuing arrival of May 20’s Birmingham, Ala., concert at the Saturn.
